The 4D database, i.e. the basis of timeSensor LEGAL, is being continuously developed. This build now uses version 18.1 of the database. In the multi-user system, the timeSensor client is therefore updated when updating to this build. Thanks to various optimisations within the database, the size of the database can be reduced by up to 50% and the working speed increased. If you want to benefit from this, we advise you to reorganise your database.
Databases develop "gaps" (a so-called fragmentation) over time due to deleted records. This fragmentation has a negative impact on search speed, stability and space consumption. In addition, defective indexes can develop over time due to external disturbances. We therefore recommend that you have your database reorganised once a year. This service increases the performance and stability of your database. If you have a server maintenance contract, this work is free of charge.
The crediting of advance or partial invoices to invoices is now processed via the accounting department. In the case of a charge, the charged amount is first reversed in the bookkeeping, as is any existing VAT. For this purpose, the liability account defined in your chart of accounts is used (e.g. 2020 Vz. von Kunden or 2440 Durchlaufende Posten). The reversal is carried out by posting the gross amount in the debit of the revenue account and in the credit of the liability account. After the reversal process, the credited amount is thus available on the liability account.
Subsequently, the gross amount on the liability account is used to balance the invoice.
This diversions via the accounting department appears more complicated at first glance, but it enables complex cases to be mapped:
These improvements apply to the "received consideration" tax system (ACTUAL taxation) used by most law firms.
The user interface of computer programmes needs updating every now and then. We have therefore made some subtle refreshes, as we naturally also want to keep up with the times visually.
Around 30 bug fixes and minor improvements round off this maintenance update.
