In November, Apple released the new operating system macOS 11 (Big Sur). This build of timeSensor LEGAL is compatible with Big Sur. The build also contains further improvements and bug fixes.
Update of the 4D database from 18.1 LTS to 18.3 LTS HF2
The 4D database, i.e. the basis of timeSensor LEGAL, is being continuously developed. To ensure compatibility with macOS 11 (Big Sur), this build now uses version 18.3 LTS HF2 of the database. In the multi-user system, the timeSensor client is therefore updated when updating to this build.
Notes for macOS:
For this build you need at least macOS 10.14 (Mojave). Recommended are macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or macOS 11 (Big Sur).
Notes for Windows.
Make sure that the timeSensor client can update itself the first time it connects to the new server. The client needs full read/write rights for this, otherwise the update of the client will be prevented by the operating system. You may have to start the client with administrator rake so that the client can update itself. You may also need to involve your IT supporter, for example if you are working in a virtualised environment.
Cloud Drive
In the "Cloud Drive" feature, it is now possible to set whether only selected documents are to be published in the cloud or whether the entire archive is to be published:
Document export
When exporting documents from the document archive, for example via the function Save documents to desktop, the operating system naturally creates all documents with the current date and time. In order to preserve the original date and time, this is now prefixed to the file name when exporting. We use square brackets and the reverse date notation for this so that the documents can easily be sorted chronologically.
Suppose you export a document called "Purchase contract", which was created on 17.03.20 at 08:30h. In future, the document will be exported as follows:
[200317 0830] Purchase Contract.pdf
Export of mandates
- Drafts (4D Write Pro documents are automatically converted to .docx)
- Documents (incl. archive dividers)
- Addresses associated with the mandate (these are converted into .vcf files)
- Deadlines linked to the mandate (these are output as .ics files)
The export function can be found in the Finance area under the mandate list. Select the desired mandates here and choose the Export command in the Tools menu under Customise.

Around 20 bug fixes from various areas round off this maintenance update.
