Markers are used to record structured additional information in the master data sheet and to be able to search for it. In contrast to normal fields, markers are separate data records that can be attached to the master data sheet.
Examples
- Record the partners, children and pets of your business partners in the form of markers for your CRM.
- Register vehicles, weapons or other resources of your clients
- Record hobbies and special interests
Definition of markers
Before you can work with markers, you must define them.
- To do this, go to the Settings area, click on Basic data in the toolbar and select Markers.
- Use the plus button to create a new marker. In our example we call the marker Family and we create three groups: Pets, Children and Partner. The groups are each created by clicking on the grey plus sign.
- Now click on the Fields tab to create the desired fields for your marker. To create a new field, click on one of the corresponding menus and select Create Field.
In the field definition dialogue you can define the new field:
- Under Name you can enter the name of the new field.
- With Field length you can determine how long the entry in the field may be.
- At Suggested value you can enter a suggestion that will always appear if a user adds a new marker of this type. Of course, this suggestion can also be overwritten if it does not match what the user wanted to write.
- With Options you can decide whether these settings can also be changed by any user or whether only the administrator can do this.
- With Suggestions, you can enter a list of suggestions. You separate the individual suggestions by making a paragraph between your entries. In the boxes below you can select whether you only want to allow the previously entered default values or whether everyone can enter something themselves. You can also determine whether every user can change the list or whether this should only be reserved for the administrator.
If you have selected a date field, the third column is not Filter&Format but Representation.
- For Minimum value, you can write down the smallest value that may be entered.
- For Maximum value, enter the highest value that users can enter.
- At Display you can select how the date is to be displayed.
If you have selected a decimal number field or an integer number field for creation, the third division is not Filter&Format but Representation.
- For Minimum value, you can write down the smallest value that may be entered.
- For Maximum value, enter the highest value that users can enter.
- At Format you can select which format the decimal number should have.
If you have selected a Boolean field to create, you have not three but two divisions. The first is field definition, and the second is representation. In Representation you can enter the labels for true and false. If you only fill in one field, a checkbox is displayed. However, if you fill in both fields, two radio buttons are displayed.
Add marker in the dossier
On the first page of the dossier, you can add as many markers as you like to your contact. To do this, click on the Markers tab and use the plus button to create a new marker or the minus button to delete a marker. In the example shown, we have added the spouse, the children and some interests of the target person.
Find records by markers
In the address list you can search for markers by clicking on the magnifying glass icon. In the corresponding search window you can, for example, find all clients whose spouse has a birthday in July.
of markers should be carried out consistently and from the beginning.
