How can I convert image-scanned PDF documents into readable PDF documents with OCR using timeSensor LEGAL 365?

General

timeSensor LEGAL 365 has the capability to convert PDF documents that were scanned as images into searchable PDF files afterwards using OCR.

Automatic Conversion

If OCR processing is activated, it is sufficient to push an image PDF into the archives and wait a bit. The conversion is automatically started in the backend and the original PDF file is replaced by the converted file. After a few minutes, the new converted file opens upon double-click in the archives. It is then visible in the document's info dialog that the document was converted with OCR. This is symbolized by the black OCR icon in the preview area.

Manual Conversion

If you want to manually convert a document (e.g., an existing, older document in the archives), this can also be done in the info dialog. Click on the light gray OCR icon to initiate the conversion.

If the conversion was successful, the OCR icon turns black. If the document does not require conversion or if an error occurred, an error message appears.
