How can I influence the structure of my own file reference (our reference)?

The structure of your own file number often depends on local customs. Whether you prefer a permanent consecutive number or whether you append the year of the opening year and start counting from one each year: timeSensor LEGAL adapts to you .
In the Settings section, open the program parameters window by clicking Parameters . Then click on the Mandate opening tab. Here you will find the following settings:

Settings for opening a mandate

  1. Numbering : Choose Permanently consecutive if your mandate numbering increases continuously, even beyond the turn of the year. Select Flexible if you want to start numbering again at 001 on January 1st.
  2. Opening year : Select here whether the opening year should be appended to the mandate number or not. The pipe (Alt + 7) always works as a separator.
  3. Mandate name : Select here whether the file number should be placed in front of the mandate name or not. Putting it first is recommended, especially in larger law firms.
  4. Format : Choose how many digits the mandate number should be formatted with. If you create fewer than 999 new mandates per year and start with 1 each year, then three digits are sufficient.
  5. Prefix : With this setting, you can prefix each mandate with a character.
If these rules are changed for existing mandates, you can have them automatically adjusted by clicking on the Change existing mandates button.
