Background
When 4D Write was developed 30 years ago, the font style (bold/italic) was created by moving pixels. An algorithm converted each character of the font into a bold or italic character if necessary by pixelated or slightly distorting the corresponding letter. This trick could display any font both normal, bold or italic. Quality was lost during conversion.
Instead of converting by an algorithm, a separate font is used for each font style (this applies to both Windows and macOS). What was formerly referred to as font (e.g.Arial) today is a nameFont family, and part of the font family are the individualFont sections. Again on the example ofArial:

Age approach
- a font, e.g.Arial
- Algorithm calculatedfatoritalicbased on font

New approach
- the font familyArial(imaginable as a kind of folder), consists of
- WritingArial Standard
- WritingArial Italic
- WritingArial Fat
- WritingArial Fat Italic
All normal font or what?
If you use an older font, you may not yet fonts for themfatoritalicexist. This was not noticeable in 4D write, because 4D write the stylesfatanditalicby an algorithm. With 4D Write Pro, however, the missing fonts cause the whole text to be displayed without style.
In this situation, you should search the Internet for a newer version of the font. Most often in the font portals, the desired font is available in a more modern version, including all necessary fonts. If you do not find it, you should choose another font where all fonts are available.
By the way: Microsoft Word behaves slightly differently at this point and, if the font is not present, still generates the desired style old, through pixel shift. Word does not adhere to the applicable recommendations.
