A crucial aspect of this is the compatibility between our software, your computer hardware, and the programs running on it, such as the operating system or additional software, particularly anti-virus programs.
In the past, we have repeatedly experienced that certain anti-virus programs, such as Sophos or BitDefender, interfere with the communication process between the timeSensor LEGAL client app and the 4D database, potentially leading to connection losses. These issues typically arise because the anti-virus software interrupts TCP traffic, which is necessary for communication between the client and server, or blocks write operations on the server's hard drive.
Why is this important?
timeSensor LEGAL relies on a stable and continuous connection between the client application and the database. If anti-virus programs block or disrupt this connection, it can lead to unexpected connection losses, and in the worst case, data loss or inconsistent databases. This could seriously impact the smooth operation of your legal software and result in significant work disruptions.
Tested and Certified Anti-Virus Solutions
We would like to explicitly emphasize that timeSensor LEGAL has been tested and certified exclusively with
Microsoft Windows Defender. Windows Defender provides effective protection against threats and works seamlessly with our software, without disrupting the necessary communication or write operations on the hard drive.
Using other anti-virus programs may, as mentioned, lead to issues since they have not been tested as part of our verification process. For this reason, we strongly recommend using only Windows Defender in conjunction with timeSensor LEGAL to ensure the reliable operation of the software.
Contractual Provisions and System Requirements
Our license agreement stipulates that timeSensor LEGAL must only be used with a suitable and compatible environment. This includes both computer hardware, operating systems, and necessary additional programs such as anti-virus software. The

system requirements for timeSensor LEGAL 365 published in the FAQ section of our help center contain binding information regarding server configuration and are an integral part of the contractual relationship with our customers.
