To use timeSensor LEGAL in a multi-user system, you must install the timeSensor Client on the individual workstations. The version of the client must correspond to the version of the server. Download the latest installer for timeSensor LEGAL on Windows here:
Click
here to go to a page where you can download the installer.
Download the timeSensor Installer. By default, it is located in your download folder. The installer is started with a double-click.
Select the version you want to download (for example, timeSensor LEGAL V9.1) and the correct product (for example, Client Installation). Now the timeSensor LEGAL Client will be installed on your system. This process takes a few minutes. By default, the timeSensor Client is installed in the following location:
C:\ProgramData\timeSensorProgram\timeSensor Client
This is the recommended storage location for the timeSensor Client under Windows, as the user has full read and write permissions there. Please do not install the client in another folder, as read/write permissions may be restricted there.
When working with timeSensor LEGAL, the timeSensor Client communicates permanently with the 4D Database. A flawless network connection is required for this. If in doubt, check the connection to the server with a PING test. Make sure that the workstations (including laptops) are connected via LAN. WLAN is not robust enough for a database connection, and even short interruptions can cause the timeSensor Client to lose connection to the 4D Database.
Make sure that the workstation does not go into sleep mode by setting the corresponding option to Never in the power settings.
Antivirus/Defender
Please disable antivirus protection for the following paths; otherwise, the software will run significantly slower or may not start at all, or may show malfunction:
- Path where the Client App is installed
- Path where the resources are located
By default, these are the following paths:
- C:\ProgramData\timeSensorProgram\timeSensor Client
- C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\timeSensor
First connection to the 4D Server
Start the timeSensor Client after its installation. Usually, the timeSensor Client finds the 4D Server in the network by itself and the timeSensor LEGAL login window appears. If the timeSensor Client does not find the 4D Server, a dialog will appear to enter the network address of the server. Enter the name of the application (timeSensor LEGAL) and the IP address of the timeSensor Server as the network address in the dialog. Click OK.
Next time, starting is easier because the database has now remembered the IP address of the 4D Server and will automatically find the 4D Server next time.
